As a Freight Supervisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our freight department. What You'll Do

  • Manage and monitor freight shipments across North America and internationally, particularly for VIP and special needs accounts
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new accounts, including setting them up in internal systems
  • Generate necessary documentation for domestic and international shipments, such as invoices, air waybills, and bills of lading
  • Communicate with clients and vendors via email, phone, and in-person meetings to maintain strong relationships
  • Negotiate rates with vendors and ensure accurate vendor invoicing and file audits
  • Assist in resolving any operational, client, or vendor issues, escalating to management when necessary
  • Supervise and schedule staff, mediate disputes, and assist with performance reviews
  • Support new employee training and assist with HR-related matters such as interviews
  • Provide regular reports on department performance, including productivity and goal achievement
  • Assist management in enforcing new procedures and participate in client meetings when needed
  • Continuously improve professional knowledge through training and seminars

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in the logistics industry
  • Completion of CIFFA certification or equivalent training (preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with North American and global stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Experience with supervising staff and handling HR-related tasks
